Create Your Own NING Network

I am absolutely in love with this health and beauty networking site, that Rob Campbell, blog writer for SMOJoe and Lenzr, mentioned to me. At first I really did not realize how interesting the site is, but after I took the time to add all my platform content, I really started to enjoy the site and just had to introduce it!

Health and beauty is not just your average social networking website. It allows users to create a ‘NING’ platform on their own profile by adding pictures, videos, music, personal blogs, discussions and forums. You can invite people from your Windows Live, Yahoo, AOL or Gmail Accounts that will keep you connected and also up to date. Your friends and family can become members of your ‘Ning Network’ and they provide a live chat where you can talk with who ever. You can add different features like Facebook, Twitter or Flickr and they have quite a few different applications to fit your style and needs.

If you enjoy posting your favourite pictures, keeping up to date with the latest news on Health and Beauty in Toronto, writing personal blogs and getting your name out their, than clearly this is the site to join. Come join my NING network and I will give the favor by joining yours.

New Holiday in Canada – Do Over Day is Feb 26th

Do Over Day national holiday e-cards

Click anywhere on the picture above and you’ll find yourself on the Do Over Day website, which is full of tips and stories, real homemade videos (and you can make one too) and ecards, seen above.

National Do Over Day is the annual moment of self reflection day – the one annual occuring occasion in which you can take a moment or re live an emotional response to something.

Do Over Day is a new holiday in Canada

The polls on the site detail approximately what percentage of our society has regret and what they are…  The results are from multiple focus groups and now we know how many people regret not taking time to speak to an attractive stranger. This was a popular regret by the way so many folks listed this type of missed opportunity as the number one event they wish they could do over? I don’t know either – you will have to visit the site to find out. I do know that the stat prompted me to consider building a website for missed opportunities.

Theser photo contests are tailor made for Muskoka this month.  The Kids in Action web challenge is no exception to Northern Ontario thirst for outdoor adventure – once again this website an easy place to win prizes, and if you are part of a young family, or friends with young people, then you’re well positioned to upload images that will turn heads and wins votes on Lenzr. This contest theme gives both amateur and professional shutterbugs a very wide bite.

Cords, Cables and Confusion the Subject of new Photo Contest on Lenzr

The Gordian KnotWhile wintering his army at Gordium in 333 BC, Alexander the Great attempted to untie the Gordian Knot.  Myths had circulated that whomever should untie the knot would swiftly rise to become the most powerful ruler of Asia.  When Alexander could find no end to the knot, by which to unbind it, he sliced it in half with a stroke of his sword, producing the required ends (the so-called “Alexandrian solution”).

Like the mythical Gordian Knot of ancient times, the latest photo contest on Lenzr hopes to collect a whole lot of knots and twisted connections.

The photo contest Everyday Tangled Web is displaying some modern Gordian Knots and asking viewers to appraise a technological advanced collection of chaotic cables and cords.  As relief from the puzzle, the prize in this crafty contest is a wireless headset that has been donated by an office phone system consultant, installer and contest sponsor – these guys use technology to help engineer a clutter free workspace. So the modern translation of the Alexandrian Solution is a bluetooth wireless headset.

Are there Ley Lines in Muskoka?

The idea of Ley Lines was first introduced in England when it was noticed that many sites and villages and other places of interest whose names all ended in ley were to be found along the same straight lines.

Literally hundreds of separate line systems have been uncovered and prove there was nothing accidental about the way ancient peoples sited their monuments which were often in astonishing harmony to one another, even over distances of hundreds of miles.

In Muskoka, the land is much younger, and much rougher. There are over 1,600 beautiful lakes in this regiona and that make travel in straight lines very difficult. However animals and native peoples have made the rudiments of very straight paths.  The ‘indian trails’ of the Algonquin and Huron tribes follow these energy paths through the woods, over rocks and streams.  Early explorers to the region like Samuel De Champlain came to the area followed by Missionaries and the hundreds of years later the first roads were built – these highways ignored the energy paths and made conduits for wheeled transportation cheapest and easiest. The name Muskoka is thought to come from the name of a Chippawa tribe chief named Mesqua Ukee which means “not easily turned back in the day of battle”.  He would have been more comfortable on the energy pathes or ley lines , than the roads.

Warranty Elephant is New Age Memory Business

Warranty Elephant is an online warranty expiry reminder service. The website functions to help people of all nations, on all seven continents, manage different expiry dates on all types of consumer warranties. My friend showed me this site. I thought they used an elephant because it signifies safety – like Elmer the safety elephant, but he says it’s because the elephant has a long memory.

I wish I’d used the service to remember the warranty when I bought this…

Kitchen Gourmet 10 drip coffee maker cause its junk and broke and this picture shows the only pot it ever brewed. The darn thing was busted inside somewhere, and I remember well the hardware store receipt and the box on which was stenciled a warranty for six months. But of course I threw it all away the first morning I unpacked it and brewed java. The packaging and the warranty went to the curb mired in coffee grounds.

So that’s why Warranty Elephant will probably succeed, because so much modern manufactured goods are made to be disposable these days.

The Warranty Elephant Blog is the best place to learn about all types of different warranties and gain insights into the warranty expiry reminder service industry as a whole. Readers will learn what comes standard and what’s unusual, as there will be interviews with customer service experts, and lawyers and legislators and even letters from Warranty Elephant users will be included in the weekly offerings. The blog mission statement reads like this:

Warranty Elephant Blog details friends and experts, and communicates contests and events and chronicles the growth of WarrantyElephant.com, the best warranty expiry reminder service on the internet.

Ontario Tourist Attractions 2 photo contest on Lenzr.com will once again show off our province’s most interesting travel destinations. The contest theme fits with Kanetix.ca, a forward thinking company that specializes in delivering the lowest car insurance quotes, and so the challenge is even more relevant when people submit family road trip pictures. Are these types of vacations becoming a thing of the past? or are they even more relevant now in a recession? Eco tours are also becoming more popular – I think people who pick up liter and trash along the beaches and while hiking in the woods should be commended. If everyone were like them then the world would be a better place and the great outdoors would be even more great.

The winner is the member that uploads the top rated image January 1st 2010 as determined by the quantity of registered votes + popular votes / total number of votes.

Are you paying too much for your mortgage or your insurance policies? Can Kanetix help you to find a cheaper rate? As Canada’s leader in online insurance and mortgage price comparisons can quickly provide you with competing quotes from top rated companies. Pick the company with the best quote and arrange for coverage online. Compare mortgage rates, home/property insurance, motorcycle insurance, life insurance, business insurance, travel insurance, health insurance, and more…

Right Around The Corner

Today being April 1st we start to see the the dark clouds and the noisy thunder storms develop into the April showers. Now I do not know about you, but comparing rain and snow together, I prefer the rain way more than I do the snow. Enough about that, I am here to share that MAY 2-4 is literally around the corner. For me May 2-4 is a tradition and I could never forget about it, but as for you..have you even thought about what you will be doing for May 2-4?

Every year, as a tradition my family and I go up to the cottage on May 2-4 to celebrate the beginning of a new summer. Like most people they cannot afford a cottage or rarely have the time and money to go on a holiday to their cottage. But, that is only one thing some people cannot do. Their are still many exciting and cheap ways to celebrate on May 2-4 in the Muskoka area without having a cottage.

Today I will help you out by giving you the best ideas you can do on May 2-4 weekend without leaving your wallet empty. First off you really need to focus on what you seriously want to do with your family and you. Personally the best and cheapest place to settle down for a nice long weekend would be in Muskoka. But, where in Muskoka and what to do to have fun as the rest of us do?

Well, one of the most popular traditions for people on May 2-4 is pitching a tent on small camp grounds. They can be very inexpensive and a great place for small or large families to celebrate their holiday. Another good idea for May 2-4 would be to find vacant resorts in Muskoka. Also you can find many hotels in the Muskoka region that are fairly cheap and near a waterfront.

Now those are great things you can do on May 2-4 and if you look early as possible and for the cheapest places for a holiday, you could enjoy May 2-4 long weekend as the rest of us do. Get booking before it is to late.

Resorts In Algonquin

With the economy today everyone seems to not have the time or money to go a way to a resort or even book time off work, but if you plan a head and choose the right resort with cheap prices how could you not take a holiday?

The time has come to start searching for the right cottage resorts with what you can afford and with what you truly do need. But, where are the best spots to choose a vacation in Muskoka region? What is the most affordable and safest resort to have your family with you? Today I will show you where to find these resorts and when you should start booking before it is to late.

I grew up with the Muskoka region and have been at many resorts during the summer as a young child. My grandparents formerly owned The Pines Cottage Resort and I have experienced my whole life with in the Algonquin area.

Oxtongue Lake is one the safest areas for all families and most of the resorts on Oxtongue can be fairly affordable too. Algonquin Lakeside Inn is a year round resort for all different types of people and if it is for a romantic night a way, a weekend with the kids or a place to have your friends visit, this is a perfect resort to enjoy a relaxing vacation.

Another great place right across from Oxtongue Lake is Wolf Den Bunkhouse n’ Cabins that is much cheaper than most of the other resorts around Oxtonge Lake and can be for groups of all ages.

Now you have some of the popular resorts you can choose from, why not start booking? When comes May, Oxtongue Lake resorts and hostels can get pretty busy and end up with no vacancies. So, think wisely and start booking your holidays today before it is to late.
